Abstract

Cloud computing has become an essential technology for modern enterprises, offering scalable, flexible, and cost-efficient IT solutions. However, migrating to the cloud is a complex process that requires careful planning and execution. This paper presents a comparative study of various cloud migration strategies and techniques, providing a comprehensive overview of approaches such as lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and refactoring. The study highlights the strengths, limitations, and use cases of each strategy, offering insights into their applicability based on organizational needs, technical requirements, and cost considerations. The paper also discusses the technical challenges involved in cloud migration, such as data security, application performance, and legacy system integration. By comparing different cloud migration techniques, this research aims to guide organizations in selecting the most suitable migration path for their specific environment, ensuring a smooth transition to the cloud while minimizing risks and costs.
